After upgrading to Windows 8, many users are shocked with user
interface. Microsoft tried to prepare user interface for all platforms.
In my opinion Windows 8 user interface isn't suitable for classic
desktop. But left this things behind us and solve famous issue for many
users – SHUTDOWN.
If you work on your smartphone or table, shutdown isn’t so important feature. But on desktop, this is an everyday routine.
How to shutdown Windows 8?
1. Using the mouse
Move
the mouse to the lower right corner on your desktop. This action will
open Charms bar on the right side of the screen. Lowest icon is for
Settings. If you click on it, the Charms bar will change to Settings
bar. At the bottom you will find the Power button. Click it and you can
choose Shutdown on simple menu.
2. Using the Windows Key + I
You
can access Setting bar directly with pressing Windows Key and I
together. At the bottom you will find the Power button. Click it and you
can choose Shutdown on simple menu.
3. Using the Ctrl+Alt+Del combination and mouse click
You
can use Ctrl+Alt+Del combination. This will change a screen and you
will find a simple menu (Lock, Switch user, Sign out, Change a password,
Task manager) in the center. On lower right corner you will find the
Power button. Click it and you can choose Shutdown on simple menu.
4. Using shortcut
Create
a shortcut on your desktop for Shutdown. Right mouse click and create a
new shortcut. Instead of browsing for location of exe file, you should
write “shutdown.exe –s –t 00” or "shutdown.exe /p". Then you can change an icon and pin
shortcut to Start or Taskbar. Voila.
